3. Unapproved Medicinal Cannabis

6. Prescription Does Not Mean TGA Approval

A prescription for an unapproved medicinal cannabis product does not mean that the product itself has been assessed and approved by the TGA.

The TGA explains that unapproved medicinal cannabis products have not been assessed by the TGA for quality, safety or effectiveness in the same way as products included in the ARTG.

Patients should discuss the benefits, risks, alternatives, expected outcomes and monitoring requirements with their healthcare practitioner.

7. Pharmacy Supply

The TGA advises that medicinal cannabis products should be obtained through an Australian registered pharmacy where prescription access is required.

The TGA specifically advises that patients cannot lawfully obtain medicinal cannabis through an online store that is not a registered pharmacy.

Accordingly, this website does not represent that a prescription alone permits a customer to purchase a regulated medicinal cannabis product directly from THC Edibles AU.
